Alexander S Morey

SOUTH BEND Alexander S. Morey, 81, passed away at 10:20am Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in Millers Merry Manor, New Carlisle. Alex was born on January 29, 1935 in Chicago, IL to Julius and Glenda (Haven) Morey. He was a 1953 graduate of Riley High School, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Bowlers Country Club. Alex was a retired barber who worked at Grubers Barber Shop as well as the Broadmoor Barber Shop. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Notre Dame Football fan. On January 4, 1964 in South Bend he married the former Juanita Jozwiak who survives along with a daughter Kathleen (Drew) Martin of Hobart, IN, 3 sons Dale (Robin) Morey and Mark (Spring Stephens) Morey both of South Bend and Scott (Indiana) Morey of Chandler, AZ, 7 grandchildren Andrew, Melanie, Dustin, Melissa, Chelsea, Madison, and Skylar, 2 great-grandchildren Cameron and Aubrie, a sister Barbara (Bill) Thompson of Naperville, IL, 2 brothers Lloyd "Butch" Morey of TX and Jim (JoAnn) Morey of Middlebrook, MO and 3 sisters-in-law Kathy Morey of Rogers, AR, Mary Morey of South Bend and Margaret Morey of Middlebrook, MO. Alex was preceded in death by 3 brothers Danny Morey, Joe Morey, and Ed Morey. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, October 14, 2016 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where friends may gather from 5-8pm.
