Errol Trinkley Obituary

Errol Trinkley, 31, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, after a tragic fall during a much anticipated camping trip in Big Bend National Park, TX. He was born to Pam (Farkas) and Kim Trinkley in South Bend on May 18, 1985. Errol attended Christ the King grade school, graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 2003 and attended Holy Cross College and Indiana University at South Bend. He was inspired by nature and had a great curiosity for life. He was a quiet man with a gift for noticing the beauty in everyday things and loved life. He had the biggest heart and cared for everyone deeply. Being the youngest sibling to two sisters, he grew to be a gentle protector, despite his sisters teasing as children. Growing up he was an avid soccer player until an injury prevented him from continuing, which led him to his passion for healthy and pure living. As an Uncle, his nephews will say that he gave the "bestest and fastest" wagon rides in the world. Errol lived in South Bend most of his life until 2011 when he moved to San Benito, TX to work alongside his Dad, assisting him with his business. While living in Texas, he independently nurtured abandoned dogs to health, including one special dog who he aptly named "Bob," because of his clipped "Bob-tail." He had many plans, including backpacking and traveling to many places, including Alaska. Errol is survived by his parents Pam Trinkley of South Bend and Kim Trinkley of San Benito, TX; his sister, Erin Smith and husband Ora and two nephews, Harrison and Nolan of Orlando; and his sister, Katy Trinkley and husband John Staley of Denver. He also leaves behind his maternal grandfather, Joe Farkas of Vandalia, MI and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins, including a very special Aunt, Phyllis Dillon of South Bend. He was preceded in death by his Godfather, Val Trinkley; paternal grandparents, Jane and Zane Trinkley; and his maternal grandmother, Fidel Farkas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Christ the King Catholic Church. Visitation will take place from 11:00am until services in the church. A celebration of life luncheon will follow at the church for family and friends. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
