Ethel T. Vance, 91, passed away in the presence of loved ones while the rosary was being prayed. She attended Mass at Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church most of her life until she moved to Healthwin Nursing Care Facility. She will be lovingly missed by all. Ethel was born on October 22, 1926 in South Bend to John and Theresa (Marton) Vance. She retired in 1982 from Bendix where she worked for 42 years. She was manager of the Stationary Stores Department. Ethel loved to travel with her friends, Betty Wagoner and Mary Ann Evanoff. They visited all 50 states, except Alaska. She frequented Las Vegas (40 times) staying at the Imperial Palace, enjoyed the Blue Chip & 4 Winds Casinos locally and was an avid bowler and golfer. She loved all the children in her family and always found ways to entertain them with games during the family holidays providing everlasting memories for them all. Surviving are her brother, Joseph Vance, 9 nieces and nephews George Kovatch, Ronnie Kovatch, Rosalie (Ray) Janis, Lynn (Russ) Dawson, Steve Vance, Patricia Opaczewski, Deborah Redding, Pam Wallace, and Kathy (Jeff) Grossnickle, great nieces and nephews Chas, Dana, Brandon, Ryan, Jessica, Lisa, Tina, Steve, Jennifer, Jennie, Russ and Dave. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters Elizabeth Kovatch, Mary Bodnar, Theresa Wolkiewicz, Helen Smith and Irene Redding and a brother John Vance. Graveside services will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday, November 13, 2017 in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
