Gene and I were best friends thru our teens, and I joined the U.S. navy and was transferred to San Diego in 1962. We were impossible to be separated. We did everything together, and enjoyed every minute of it. He was a real funny guy and always had our group of 4 or 5 having a great time. After we separated, we lost all contact,except for a pizza party many years later. I'm really sad he's gone, but will always be in my heart. So long Gene, I'll miss you.
