Lillian Jeziorski Obituary

Lillian R. Jeziorski, 83, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in St. Joseph Regional Med Center. Lillian was born on September 23, 1934 in South Bend to Jacob and Marie (Ferency) Kuzmits. On April 27, 1957 she married John V. Jeziorski. He died on January 1, 2003. Lillian was also preceded in death by a sister Matilda "Tilly" Kuzmits and brother Frank Kuzmits. Surviving are two daughters Patti (Bill) Schmatz and Michelle (John) Maternowski, two sons David (Dawn) Jeziorski (Texas) and John Jeziorski (Calif), 11 grandchildren Danielle, David, Derek, Kaitlyn, Jacob, Natalie, Tyler, Connor, Kelli, Adam and Kyle, 4 great-grandchildren Aubree, Harper, Liam and Camden, and brother Rudy Kuzmits. Lillian spent her early years at the family Kuzmits Grocery on Calvert St and loved the Slavish heritage neighborhood with dancing and cooking special traditional meals with authentic pastries. She enjoyed the company of many and loved to dance, bowl, cook, play games and occasional Casino time. Time with grandchildren was special to her and loved to see them even when some were miles away. She attended Our Lady of Hungary and Riley High School then worked for Indiana and Michigan Electric for years, the Chocolate Factory in South Bend, Follett Notre Dame catalog center and volunteered for the Food Pantry. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Fr. Kevin Bauman officiating in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Family and friends may gather from 11 am 1 pm Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hearth at Juday Creek where Lillian lived for the past 2 years.
