Robert Mahoney Obituary

SOUTH BEND - Robert Mahoney, 62, passed away at 12:25am Saturday, October 8, 2016 with many loved ones at his bedside. Robert was born on February 5, 1954 in South Bend to Adam and Opal (ODonnell) Mahoney. He graduated from Rhema Bible College. Bob was employed as a maintenance tech by the Arconic/Howmet, LaPorte. Previously employed at Dodge Manufacturing and Uniroyal, Mishawaka. Bob was a hardworking man dedicated to his job and family, an amazing artist, wonderful father, grandfather and friend and loved each and every one individually and for who they were. Bob had a love for Nascar, the casino, and was a Trump supporter. Bob loved and spoiled his wife, Carol J. Hullinger who he married February 14, 1996. Bob is survived by five children Amber Miller of South Bend, Nathan Robert (Sara) Mahoney of Plymouth, C.J. (Kelly Jo) Hurlbut II of Churubusco, Angel (Todd) Beck of Carmel, and Gerry (Kari Lynn) Dietrich of Walkerton, 22 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a sister Marion Vogl, 4 aunts and an uncle. Funeral services will be celebrated at 6:00pm Sunday, October 16, 2016 in the Zahoran Funeral Home,1826 Kemble Avenue, with Pastor Arlin Cocran officiating. Family and friends may visit from 4-6pm Sunday in the funeral home. Pitch-in dinner to follow services at UAW Local 5, 1426 S Main St. A big thank you to Roberts family, JoAnn Forizs, Brenda Forizs, and Pam Patterson, his work family and hospice workers, Kiki,Victoria, & Carol, for all the love and support you have given both Bob and Carol. The Family is asking that you please wear purple to support finding a cure of pancreatic cancer. Memorial contributions may be made to Stand Up To Cancer.
