SOUTH BEND- Sharon Joan Gendel, 82, of South Bend, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Memorial Hospital- South Bend, supported by her extended family and friends. Sharon was born April 23, 1934 in Lafayette, Indiana to the late Genevieve and Lloyd Widener. She is survived by her five children: Deborah (David) Goss of Traverse City, Michigan, Laura Gendel of Mishawaka, Indiana, Sandra (Yoram) Ohana of Efrat, Israel, Mark (Gail) Gendel of South Bend, Indiana, and Barry (Sandy Zajac) Gendel of Mishawaka, Indiana, and grandchildren: Ryan Gendel, Michael (Katie) Ohana, Vered (Yishai) Carmona, Bradley Gendel, Brendon Gendel, and great grandchild: Zohar Ohana, as well as extended family: Mike, Jasamin, Mahak, and Mahan Khosravani, and Mary, Tom, Elizabeth, Andrew, Thomas and Louie Labuzienski. Sharon will greatly miss her many, many loving friends because her involvement in their lives meant the world to her. Sharon was always up for a trip, social activity or adventure with friends, the Red Hat Society and her senior girl gang. Sharon always had a rescue dog companion and is survived by her beautiful toy poodle, Rosie. Sharon loved spending time at the lake house in North Webster, Indiana, and working on her crafts- flower arranging, making greeting cards for soldiers, and decorating both inside and out, especially enjoying her holiday dcor. Sharon retired from both Sears and Montgomery Wards after years of dedicated service. Sharons remains will be dedicated in a Memorial bench. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
