Sylvia A. (Yambrich) Popovich

Sylvia A. Popovich, 79, passed away at 6:00am Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. Sylvia was born on December 18, 1937 in South Bend to Steven and Yohanna (Biritz) Yambrich. She was employed in the security industry for 35 years, starting with Al McGann. She also was employed by Wells Fargo. Sylvia was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Church, its choir, Forever Learning, the Original Polka Mass Singers and was a charter member of the Jr. Daughters of Isabella. On November 27, 1984 she married William P. Popovich who survives along with a daughter Mary (Eric) Krause of South Bend, son Michael (Dallas Swanson) Popovich of Green Bay, WI, 3 grandchildren Lauren (Josh) Kikly, Rachel Popovich, and Nicole Krause, a great-granddaughter Quinn, sister Joan (Lawrence) Francisco, brother Stephen (Sandra) Yambrich and numerous nieces and nephews. Sylvia was preceded in death by a sister Judith Sklar. According to Sylvias wishes, cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday July 24, 2017 at Our Lady of Hungary Church. Family and friends may gather from 10:00am until services in the church.
