Victor Kuzmic, 90, passed away 9:30pm Friday, September 30, 2016 in the Hearth at Juday Creek. Victor was born on December 1, 1925 in South Bend to Victor and Katherine (Busezky) Kuzmic, Sr. He retired as a serviceman from NIPSCO after 25 years of service. He was a decorated World War II Navy veteran who served on the battleship USS California. Vic was a member of the BK Club and hobbies included fishing, woodworking, and was well known for his ability to fix anyones gas appliance. He was also an Assistant Scout Master back in the 60s with a reputation for some slightly embellished "Victory at Sea" war stories told around the campfires. Vic loved to watch ND Football and track his family ancestry. On April 26, 1952 he married the former Anne Prikosovich who survives along with two daughters Linda (Larry) Hilligoss of Ashland, OR and Cindy (Marc) Lieberman of Scottsdale, AZ, a son Tom (Amy) Kuzmic of Granger, 3 grandchildren Madison, Katherine, and Martin, and a brother Eugene (Mary Ann) Kuzmic of South Bend. Victor was preceded in death by two sisters Katherine Smessaert and Eleanor DHaenens and a brother Ralph Kuzmic. The Kuzmic family would like to give a special thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice and to the doctor, nurses, and aides at the Hearth at Juday Creek for all the help and loving care Vic received. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends from 4-7 Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where a rosary will be recited at 5:30. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
