George A. Tschumakow, 77, passed away at 6:30am Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in the Hearth at Juday Creek.George was born on June 6, 1941 in Russia to Alexander and Olga (Golyonko) Tschumakow. He graduated from Elkhart High School where he became very proficient playing the viola. Later he played viola with the Elkhart Symphony. He was co-founder of Johns Toyota, and taught computer science at Ivy Tech. George was a member of the Elks Club, an avid bridge and chess player, and enjoyed playing golf. On June 1, 1963 he married the former Jenia Tashijan who survives along with 2 sons Alexander (& Jennifer) Tschumakow and Nicholas (& Devon) Tschumakow and 4 grandchildren Nadezhda, Alina, Landyn and Ayden.Services will be celebrated at 2:00pm Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Viewing will take place from 4-8 Friday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where a prayer service will be recited at 7:00pm. Viewing will also take place on Saturday from 1:00pm until services in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church.
