Gloria Slater Obituary

Gloria J. Slater, 86, passed away at 11:30pm Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Memorial Hospital. Gloria was born on March 14, 1930 in South Bend to Robert and Almeda (Parker) Taylor. On May 15, 1948 in South Bend as Gloria Parker, she married Peter C. Slater. He died on August 17, 2015. Surviving are a daughter Judy Ann Kovacs of South Bend, son Dennis P. (Laurie) Slater of South Bend, grandson Kyle K. Slater, two step-grandchildren Matthew Sobieski and Anna Sobieski and two great-grandchildren Kelsea Slater and Kaiya Slater. Gloria loved to go dancing, playing cards, and going to the lake. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Thursday, March 16, 2017 in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 Wednesday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or the Alzheimers Association.
