Juanita Creswell Obituary

SOUTH BEND Juanita M. Creswell, 86, passed away at 10:47am Saturday, March 4, 2017 in her residence. Juanita was born on January 15, 1931 in South Bend to Everett and Nettie (Shoue) Higginbotham. She had been employed by South Bend Country Club and enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds and playing euchre. On May 24, 1952 she married V.L. John Creswell. He died on February 25, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a son John at birth, granddaughter Tammie Pierce, a sister Norma Neirynck and three brothers Thurlo "Ted" Higginbotham, Norman Higginbotham, and Allen Higginbotham. Surviving are two daughters Virginia (Dan) Pierce of South Bend and Dee (James) Bostic of Niles, MI, a son John G. (Susan) Creswell of Mishawaka, 5 grandchildren Jackie Woltman, Amanda (Larry) OBanion, Heather (Kyle) Martin, Joshua and Jacob Bostic, 6 great-grandchildren Beau and Jade OBanion , Zachary, Kollin and Lauren Woltman, and Kaydence Martin , 4 sisters Marilyn Burgess of South Bend, Audrey Higginbotham of Nappanee, Deanna Sipos of Griffith, IN and Evelyn Horvath of South Bend and 3 brothers Everett (Evelyn) Higginbotham and Karl (Shirley) Higginbotham both of South Bend and Robert Higginbotham of Osceola. The family would like to thank Dr. Margaret Quate, Dr. Leslie Schmitz, Dr. Brian Sucharetza, the staff at Davita West and the nurses and staff of Memorial Hospital 9 South for the love and care during this difficult time. Funeral services will be celebrated at 1:00pm Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Family and friends may visits from 11:00am to 1:00pm Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Chiara Home.
