SOUTH BEND Robert Lee Katona, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in his residence in Baldwin, Michigan. Robert was born on January 23, 1926 in South Bend to Alexander and Emma (Klowetter) Katona. They preceded him in death along with a sister Marilyn Hegerfeld, two brothers Alex Katona and LeRoy Katona, a niece Cynthia Katona and nephew Michael Katona Surviving are a brother Larry (Phyllis) Katona of Baldwin, MI, 6 nieces Kelly Mitchell, Barbara Katona, Beverly Wise, Debbie Winnicki, Karen Poole and Cheryl Deinema, 4 nephews Kevin Katona, Kevin Katona Jr., David Katona and Gary Katona and cousins. Funeral services will be celebrated at 4:00pm Monday March 13, 2017 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Private burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may visits from 2-4pm Monday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan, 5177 West U.S. 10, Ludington, MI 49431.
