Betty E. (Tirotta) Smith

Betty E. Smith, 78, passed away on August 12, 2021 in her home, surrounded by her family.

Betty was born on March 11, 1943 in South Bend to Christy and Carmella (Macri) Tirotta.  She was joined together since 1959 and renewed their vows in 1980 to John Vance Smith.  He died on July 7, 1999.  Betty was also preceded in death by a daughter Tanya Ann Tirotta, two sons John Vance Smith Jr. and John Christy Smith, a sister Ann Smith and a brother Christy Tirotta Jr.

Surviving are 7 daughters Mari Smith, Brenda Stanley-Smith, Melissa Smith, BettyJune Smith, Stefanye Smith, June Bibi and April Smith, 4 sons Kim Smith, Chris Smith, Paul Smith and Bruno Smith, 25 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, 4 sisters Julie Orisich, Teresa Parisey, Rosemary Arndt, and Tina Lankford, and 2 brothers Albert Tirotta and Frank Tirotta.

Betty enjoyed fishing, gardening, bingo, going to the casino, yard sales, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

A viewing will take place from 12-2pm Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue.  A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2pm by Fr.
