Brenda K. (Barker) Hernandez

Brenda K. Hernandez, 69, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 in Memorial Hospital.

Brenda was born on February 15, 1955 in South Bend to James and Janice (Porman) Barker Sr.  They preceded her in death along with a sister Sheila Stewart, two brothers Buddy Barker and James Henry Barker Jr. and two lifelong friends Donna Jaronik and Debbie Allison.

On July 27, 2000 she married Alejos Hernandez who survives along with her fur baby Honey, two daughters Kimberly Spychalski and Audrey (David) Spychalski, four grandchildren Brittany Collins, Trey Taylor, Kaelyn Fulmer, and Desiree Taylor, six great-grandchildren Genesis Bucks, Silas Taylor, Grayson Nifong, Layke Taylor, Wyatt Jacobs, and Santiago Taylor, Donna (Daren) Barker, nieces and nephew Zachary Collins, Donald Collins, Melissa Mercado, Amy Stewart, Jamie Winston, Jennifer Barker, Katherine Schell, and Erica Schell and lifelong friends Dorothy Hanes, Rose Szoke, Verna Caplin and Sandy Bronstetter.

Brenda enjoyed spending time on the computer, cooking, dancing, music, but most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will take place Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 3-5pm in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue.
