SOUTH BEND – Clarence Nobles, 90, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022.
Clarence was best known as “Shorty”. He was born on March 18, 1931 in Iuka, MS to Willie and Tenny (Hobbs) Nobles. Shorty was a class a diesel mechanic at Tucker Freight Lines in South Bend. Clarence served in the US Army as a tanker in Germany during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW 360 in Mishawaka IN, and a former member of the VFW 360 drill team that won several state championships. He was also an avid Fisherman and loved plants.
Clarence was married to Betty Dodd from Cypress Inn, TN. She preceded him in death along with a daughter Debbie Rans. Surviving are three children Pam (Barry) Lane, Steve (Becky) Nobles and Rick Nobles, several grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Clarence lived a long life and will truly be missed. A special Thank you to Laura Gendel for taking care of Mr. Nobles during his later years of life.
