David A. Kazmierzak

David A. Kazmierzak, 72 passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Home by the Dome after a brief illness.David was born on July 17, 1952 in South Bend to Mitchell and Eleanor (Jagodzinski) Kazmierzak.  On January 6, 1973 he married his high school sweetheart, Susan Urbanski, who survives along with their children Brian and his children Mitchell and Mason and their mother Susan Morse, and Eric (Jillian) and their children Grace and Lily.  Also surviving are his brother Michael (Karen) and their children Stephanie and Justin.He attended St. John the Baptist Grade School and was a 1970 graduate of LaSalle High School.  David was a partner with his parents and brother of Mitchell and Sons Nursery & Landscaping.  In 1985 they bought Frepan Floral Shop, which he and Susan managed for 28 years.  After retirement, David enjoyed working in his yard and for the last 7 years he and Susan wintered in Punta Gorda, Florida.  He enjoyed sitting on the lanai, walking the harbor walk and watching sunsets. David was very active at St. John the Baptist, serving on the School Board, Athletic Association President for many years and coaching both the boys and girls basketball teams.  He was also President of the ICCL for 9 years.  In the early 80’s he started a Sunday afternoon men’s softball league that he ran and played in for many years.A special thank you to Home by the Dome and Comfort 1 Hospice for helping with the care of David for the past 3 weeks.Cremation has taken place.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Friday, May 16, 2025 in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in David’s memory may be made to the Fr. Bly Quarterback Club Foundation Inc., 212 E.
