Dennis P. Slater

Dennis P. Slater, 70, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023 in Memorial Hospital.

Dennis was born on December 28, 1952 in South Bend to Peter and Gloria (Parker) Slater.  He was a graduate of LaSalle High School and worked as an elevator contractor.

He was a drummer for the band 3rd Session and loved muscle cars, cars shows, Notre Dame and the Chicago Bears.

Surviving are his wife Laurie (Vargo) Slater along with 2 sons Kyle (Eloysa) Slater and Matthew (Crystal Vaughn) Sobieski, a daughter Anna (Erik Cruz) Sobieski, 4 grandchildren Kelsea Slater, Kaiya Slater, Zoey Cruz and Myra Cruz and a sister Judy Kovacs.

Visitation will take place from 2-8 Tuesday, January 17, 2023 in Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue.   Funeral services will be celebrated at 11:00am Wednesday in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  To leave an online condolence, visit our ebsite http://www.zahoran.com
