Everett G. Rice

Everett G. Rice, age 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

Everett was born on June 3, 1940, in Hammond, Indiana, to Paul R. and Elaine F. Rice (nee Fisher).  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Roger P. Rice.

On August 25, 1962, Everett married Catherine Joyce Guzowski in Cleveland, Ohio. Together they shared over 63 years of marriage and family life.

He was an avid golfer and bowler and greatly enjoyed time spent pursuing both hobbies.

Everett is survived by his wife, three daughters, Gail (Mark) Gendel, Katie (Bryan) Shellabarger, and Tracey (Chris) Martens; five grandchildren, Bradley (Maggie) Gendel, Brendon “Doni” (Emily) Gendel, Ava Shellabarger, Reagan Martens and Jack Shellabarger; and five great‑grandchildren, Cullen, Finley, Connor, Kennedy, and Grant Gendel.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Everett’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
