George J. Labis, 74, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 in his residence.
George was born on October 22, 1946 in South Bend to George and Ethel (Vida) Labis Sr. He retired from Solvay Automotive and also was an electrician. George served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion and the NRA.
Surviving are a sister Deborah (Allen) Duvall, a brother Robert (Laura) Labis, 6 nieces and nephews Stacy Delgado, Amy Gutierrez, Ron Youngs, Kiley Darnell, Kolynn Labis and Gage Labis and numerous great-nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Gail Laskowski and a nephew Brian Laskowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00am Saturday, August 7, 2021 in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may gather from 4-8 Friday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where a rosary will be recited at 6:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Church or St. Stanislaus Church.
