Immacolata Macri, 83, passed away at 1:24pm Monday, August 8, 2022 in Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Immacolata was born on December 27, 1938 in Siderno, Italy to Giuseppe and Maria (Crupi) Galea. On September 24, 1960 in Mitro Calabria, Italy she married Nicola Macri who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters Maria (Greg) Qualkinbush, Anna (John) Skelton, and Viola (William) Ramsay, a son Frank (Tammy) Macri, 4 grandchildren Robert Walker, Zachary Walker, William Ramsay, Immecolata Macri, a great-grandchild Levi, a brother Agostino Galea , nieces and nephews Antonio (Maria) Sgambelluri, Joseph (Emilia) Sgambelluri, Cosimo Sgambelluri, Maria (Carmen) Martino along with several great nieces and nephews. Immacolata was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Rosa (Vincenzo) Sgambelluri.
Immacolata enjoyed crocheting, baking, cooking, gardening but most of all she treasured her family and was a great wife, mother and grandmother. She was also an excellent business woman with an entrepreneurial spirit starting her own daycare business and then moving into real estate. She had a wonderful sense of humor making us laugh on a daily basis and was a great storyteller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Monday, August 15, 2022, in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Viewing will take place from 2-6 Sunday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where a rosary will be recited at 5:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
