Irene (Nemeth) Werenka

Irene Werenka, 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in her residence, surrounded by her family.

Irene was born on February 28, 1945 in Hungary to Anthony and Kathy (Komives) Nemeth.  She immigrated to the United States in 1956 and retired from Target.  Irene enjoyed shopping and gardening and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On June 24, 1967 in Our Lady of Hungary Church she married Otto Werenka.  He died on February 8, 2006.  Surviving are a daughter Joanne Richardson, 4 grandchildren Nicole (Josh), Melanie (Nathan), Colin, and Bradley, 5 great-grandchildren Wyatt, Brody, Addison, Emery, and Emily, and a brother Anthony (Maureen) Nemeth.

Cremation has taken place.  A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 1-2pm in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue.  A Celebration of his Life will follow at 2:00pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.   To leave an online condolence visit our website www.zahoran.com or our Facebook page Zahoran Funeral Home.
