Jenia (Tashijan) Tschumakow

Jenia Tschumakow, 84, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 in her home.

Jenia was born on February 20, 1939 in Krasnodar, Russia to John and Nadia (Holotina) Tashijan.  She graduated from Mishawaka High School and attended St. Mary’s College.

Jenia was the office manager for John’s Toyota and loved to read and listen to classical music.  She had a beautiful singing voice and also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

On June 1, 1963 she married George A. Tschumakow.  He died on December 18, 2018.  Jenia was also preceded in death by a brother Victor (Mary) Tashijan.

Surviving are 2 sons Alexander (& Jennifer) Tschumakow and Nicholas (& Devon) Tschumakow and 4 grandchildren Nadezhda, Alina, Landyn, and Ayden, and a sister Tania (Basil) Zaderej.

Services will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, December 22, 2023 in Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Viewing will take place from 4-8 Thursday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where a prayer service will be recited at 7:00 pm.  Viewing will also take place on Friday from 10:00 am until services in the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association.  To leave an online condolence, please visit our website at www.zahoran.com.
