John M. Kosanovich, 94, passed away at 10:15pm Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the Raclin House at the Center for Hospice.
John was born on December 21, 1926 in South Bend to Peter and Elsie (Mamula) Kosanovich. They preceded him in death along with his former wife Geraldine Slater, son David Kosanovich and brother Sam Kosanovich.
Surviving are a daughter Elaine (Terry) McConnell of Las Vegas, a son Robert (Renee) Kosanovich of South Bend, two grandchildren Joshua D. Kosanovich and Benjamin A. Kosanovich and a sister Olga Matijevich of Florida.
John was a World War II Army veteran who retired from the South Bend Community School Corporation. John was a good Father, Husband and provider. He was loved by everyone, and never knew a stranger. He loved listening to music, singing, and outdoor activities. John also was a Notre Dame football usher for 30 years.
Private services and burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery has taken place. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
