Kara was born on May 19, 1978 in South Bend to Donald and Sara (Schooley) Dunn.

Surviving are her companion Dean Brittain Jr., 2 brothers Charles “Bill” Dunn and Donald Dunn as well as her close friends Carolyn Lawson, Dewey Alan Tucker and Terry
