Kathleen (Mandich) Csakany

Kathleen Csakany, 81, passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, January 26, 2025.

Born December 16, 1943 to Joseph and Helen (Blasko) Mandich, she was the first of their three children.  Following a long courtship she married Michael Csakany on July 20, 1963.  They remained together until his death on June 29, 2015.

Surviving are her two sons Christopher (Carol Griggs) Csakany and Paul (Joanne) Csakany, 4 grandchildren Erin, Adrienna, Brendon and Robert, and both younger siblings Mitzi (John) Psarakis and Daniel Mandich.

Kathy sparked a lifelong joy of reading in her children.  She continued to voraciously read James Patterson and other thrillers until her last months.  She loved the drama of professional wrestling and recounting the lasted heel turn.  She also shamelessly spoiled a series of happy dogs throughout her life.

She displayed great strength, love, and determination caring for her mother and husband in their waning years.

Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 5-7pm in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue.
