Kathryn (Nagy) Suppinger, 92, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Kathryn was born February 23, 1928, in South Bend to Mary (Vida) Nagy and Louis Nagy. She graduated from Madison High School in 1946. She worked at Bendix, Carleton Financial, and later at Jo-Ann Fabrics. She married John Suppinger on April 11, 1953, at Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church in South Bend. She was known around town for her impeccable seamstress skills and tasty apple pies, bread, kolache, and kieflies. She bowled in leagues nearly every year from the age of 16 and continued the love of the game alongside her husband until 2020. They were members of the Guys and Dolls of Michiana dance club for almost two decades. She was constantly feeding the birds and stray cats while also boasting a wonderful green thumb that could sprout nearly anything from a twig. She was a long-time member of Holy Family Catholic Church where all three children were schooled and wed. She is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Mary Nagy, her brothers: John Paul Nagy, Calman "Andrew" Nagy, and Frank Nagy; her sisters: Mary Christian, Rose VanBelleghem, Clarice "Gerri" Benjamin, and Helen Wilfing; and her son-in-law David Strickland. Left to honor Kathryn are her husband John Suppinger, her sister Irene Szucs, children: Kathryn Strickland, Mary (Tom) Wright, and John (Sheryl) Suppinger, and grandchildren: Michael Strickland, Mary Strickland, Andrea Wright, Sam Wright, Chelsea Suppinger, Alexander Suppinger, and Ashleigh Suppinger.
