Linda J. (Lane) Wieczorek

Linda Wieczorek, 73, passed away at 5:35pm Monday, January 11, 2021 in her residence, surrounded by her family.Linda was born on June 3, 1947 in South Bend to Anthony and Goldie (Zubrits) Lane. On May 1, 1971 she married Josef Wieczorek who survives along with two daughters Heidemarie Wieczorek and Juliana (George) Paustian, a son Jeffrey Josef Wieczorek, two grandchildren Juliet and Josefine and a sister Julie (William) Rutledge. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Sharon Switalski and brother Thomas Lane.Linda worked as a registered nurse in Uganda in 1969 and 1970, then at St. Joseph Hospital for 21 years and Memorial Hospital for 10 years. She loved watching the Catholic Mass and rosary on television. Linda was an avid painter, artist, reader and also enjoyed crossword puzzles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm Saturday, January 16, 2021 in St. Matthew Cathedral. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be enforced. Cremation will follow with burial of her cremated remains in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care.
