Luis Angel Hernandez Acosta

Luis Angel Hernandez Acosta, 16, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023.

Luis was born on June 21, 2007 in South Bend.  He was a student at Washington High School and worked for Jet’s Pizza as well as being a barber, which he wanted to pursue.

Surviving are his mother Cristina Hernandez Acosta, father Elias Leon Cervantes, step-father Juan Diaz Ambriz, mother’s husband Honorio Ilario, maternal grandmother Nelida Hernandez, paternal grandparents Maribel Noboa and Elias Cervantes, maternal great-grandmother Ma Guadalupe Acosta, sister Yasmin Diaz Hernandez, brother Jonathan Diaz Hernandez, aunts Gricelda Bernal and Mayra Flores, numerous cousins and other aunts and uncles.

Viewing will take place on Monday, July 17, 2023 from 4-8pm in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue, where a rosary will be recited at 6:00pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00pm Tuesday in Our Lady of Hungary Church. 

Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to

the family to defray funeral expenses.
