Margaret (Racz) Szalay

Margaret Szalay, 90, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in Morning View Assisted Living.

Margaret was born on December 17, 1933 in Kony, Hungary to Janos and Katalin (Szabo) Racz.  On August 4, 1956 in Hungary she married Miklos Szalay.  He died on April 2, 1990.  Margaret was also preceded in death by a sister Eliszbet and two brothers Nandor and Antus.

Surviving are two daughters Rosemary (Roy) Atkison and Kathleen Friend (and husband), three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a sister Teresa.

Margaret was very loving and proud to be an American citizen.  She loved to cook, garden and play the organ.

Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Church or the Center for Hospice Care.   To leave an online condolence, please visit our website at www.zahoran.com.
