Margo (Sappington) Amodeo

Margo (Sappington) Amodeo December 15, 1948 August 21, 2016 SANTA CRUZ, CA Margo Amodeo passed away peacefully in her sleep at 3:45am last Sunday after an illness. She was born in South Bend, IN to Don and Margaret (Bango) Sappington. Her mother, Margaret, passed away earlier this summer on June 24, 2016. Margo was also preceded in death by her two husbands Richard Bailey and Joseph Amodeo. Margo was a 1967 graduate of John Adams High School and remained briefly in South Bend working at Wymans downtown before following her dream to live in California. She lived the rest of her life in and around Santa Cruz, CA where she loved the ocean and mountains, and being close to family, especially her grandchildren. She was passionate about animals, and volunteered at wildlife refuges and fostered and adopted shelter animals. Margo had been employed in hotel management in Santa Cruz, working her way up from an entry level position. She also had an artistic side, and worked from home, crafting leather items and painting on silk. Margo is survived by her father, Don Sappington of South Bend, son, Joshua (Tasia) Bailey, grandchildren Maddux and Trinity all of Scotts Valley, CA, sister, Carla (Michael) Kaczynski of Osceola, IN, nephew, Nick (Sara) Kaczynski of South Bend, twin nieces Cassandra and Karissa Kaczynski, several cousins and her faithful dog, DooDad. Honoring Margos wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date in California. Memorial contributions may be made to any animal support group.
