Maria Robinson Watkins, 68, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026 in her residence in Union City, GA.
Maria was born on December 12, 1957 to Nathaniel and Renelda (Boswell) Robinson. Her union with husband Michael Watkins lasted for 31 years.She survives along with her Goddaughter (niece) Coretta (Adam Hadrick) Mattai, sisters Mary Robinson Mattai (Twin Sister), Marguerite Taylor, Myra Carter, and brothers Marcus Robinson and Marshall Robinson.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marcia Robinson and brother Nathaniel Robinson Jr. Also, preceded her in death by her nephews Calvin Cater, Lamar and Micheal Taylor.
She is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews, Annice Renee Carter, Brandon and Nathaniel Robinson III (Annette) Eric M Robinson and Curtis Williams, and by many great nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Maria retired from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as a Supervisor at Air Security. She found her greatest happiness in life’s simple moments, especially time spent with her loving partner, with whom she shared many memories through their travels and everyday life together. Her family was the center of her world and she treasured every moment of laughter, conversation, and togetherness.
She found peace sitting outside in her backyard, enjoying the quiet beauty around her, and took great comfort in listening to her favorite music.She also had a deep love for her pets, who were truly part of her family and brought her endless joy. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love of life’s simple pleasures, and the warmth and love she shared so freely with those closest to her.
Funeral services will be celebrated at First A. M. E. Zion Church, 801 N. Eddy Street, South Bend, IN 46617 on March 28, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a private burial for the family on Monday March 30, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Viewing will take place in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue, South Bend, IN 46613 on March 27, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to First A.M.E. Zion Church.
