Mary Lou Vukovits, 91, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 in the Raclin House, Center for Hospice surrounded by loved ones.
Mary Lou was born on March 6, 1933 in LaPorte, IN to Joseph and Pauline (Steinhofer) Andert. On November 22, 1956 she married Jack V. Vukovits who survives along with four children: Dan (Robin) Vukovits, Mary (Tim) Pfeiffer, Kathy (Dave) Smith and Victor (Lisa) Vukovits, 10 grandchildren: Hilary, Taylor and Bailey Vukovits, Erika and Mariah Pfeiffer, Katie (Garrett) Stutsman, Garrett Smith, Blake, Loren and Jack Vukovits, two sisters: Josephine (late, John) Wegh, Paula (David) Bashover and a brother, Steve (Rosemary) Andert.
Mary Lou was employed by North Liberty Schools and also worked as an Avon sales rep for almost 50 yrs. She was a member of the DFV German Club Ladies’ Auxiliary and enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, reading, crocheting, and gardening. She never met a stranger She was everyone mother, Loving her husband,family and especially her grandchildren.
Viewing will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:30am in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Funeral services will follow with burial in Highland Cemetery.
