Michael P. Maugeri

South Bend-Michael P. Maugeri, 60 passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 in his residence.

Mike was born on January 8, 1961 in Torino, Italy to Carmelo and Concetta (Macri) Maugeri.  They preceded him in death along with a sister Rose Maugeri.  He came to the United States on February 8, 1970 and became a US citizen in 1980.  He graduated from Clay High School in 1981 and went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Public Management from IUSB in 1986 and made his living as an amateur day trader.  Mike was huge Chicago Bears and IU basketball fan.  He coached little league baseball for 5 years at South Side Little League. 

On March 23, 2012 Mike married the love of his life, Barbara Barrett who survives, along with their beloved dog Jax, 2 step-daughters Trina and Sheree, a step-son Nick, 6 step-grandchildren Lillian, Lucy, Hannah, Amari, Irie, and William, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the United States, Italy, and Australia.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12-2pm Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue.  A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2pm by Fr.
