Norma J. (Fisher, Kraft) Conklin, 83, of Lebanon Indiana passed away on February 8th, 2021.
Norma was born on May 15, 1937 in South Bend to Orville and Mildred (Kizer) Fisher. She graduated from Greene Township High School in South Bend in 1955. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lyle Fisher, her husband Donald R. Conklin, and her daughter Valeri Jo (Conklin, Rivas) Hrdlicka. She is survived by her granddaughter Jessica Rivas, great granddaughter Jernee Rivas, and five stepchildren, and multiple stepgrandchildren.
Norma was a kind and generous person with a good heart. She loved her family and friends and cared about them deeply. She was a positive and upbeat person who always tried to see the best in everyone. She always helped those less fortunate in any way she could, even if it meant making personal sacrifices. She was a sentimental person with a vast collection of keepsakes and mementos reflecting the story of her life. She had a strong yet quiet faith in God.
Norma lived in Speedway for many years before eventually settling in Lebanon. The neighborhood parties she and her husband Don hosted at their home in Speedway every year on the night before the race were legendary. She cherished the memories and lifelong friendships forged in that neighborhood.
Norma had a fun-loving personality and a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed traveling, camping, dining out, and dancing. She loved all animals, and throughout her life she had several dogs that forever held a special place in her heart.
Norma was a wonderful woman. She will be missed by those left to cherish her memory.
It was Norma’s desire to be cremated. Her service was delayed until now due to Covid. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Sumption Prairie Cemetery in South Bend IN. All who knew her and wish to pay their respects are welcome to attend.
