South Bend – Oliva Vargas, 53, passed away at 6:44pm Saturday, April 24, 2021 in Community Hospital South, Indianapolis.
Oliva was born on June 10, 1967 in San Juan de Navarrete, Jalisco, Mexico to Pedro Robles Gomes and Gabriella Navarro Nunez. She was employed by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, and was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Church where she was very active.
On August 1, 1992 in South Bend, she married Hector Vargas who survives along with 4 sons Hector Vargas Jr, Gabriel Vargas, Geraldo Vargas and Saul Vargas, 4 sisters Margarita Robles Navarro, Emelia Robles Navarro, Elena Robles Navarro and Mariana Robles Navarro and 2 brothers Elijio Robles Navarro and Lauro Robles Navarro. Oliva was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Paula Robles Navarro and a brother Santiago Robles Navarro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Viewing will take place from 9:45-11:45am Wednesday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. A rosary will be recited at 11:00am. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be enforced. Viewing is possible through our webcast.
