Rita K. Freel

Rita K. Freel, 64, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023 in Bronson Hospital, Battle Creek.

Rita was born on June 17, 1958 in Dowagiac, MI to Joseph and Virginia (Ogle) Freel.  She was employed by Portage Manor as a Qualified Medical Assistant for many years. 

She often attended The cross bible study group.  She enjoyed being everybody’s Momma as well as crocheting, bible study and coloring.

Surviving are Ex-Husband/friend Terry Moss, a daughter Tara (Chris) Hoadley, 4 grandchildren Christopher T. Hoadley, Chloe Hoadley, Abigail Mcclure Harrison, and Joshua Smith and a sister Joanna Freel.  She was preceded in death by her companion David A. Stephens a son Timothy Moss, and her sisters Madelyn Sue (Freel) Amumdson and Judy (Freel) Davis

Cremation will take place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to defray funeral expenses.
