Robert J. Cross, Jr.

Robert J. Cross Jr., 67, passed away at 11:37am Wednesday, July 24, 2019 in Bell Tower Health & Rehab.Robert was born on December 20, 1951 in South Bend to Robert and Cleo (True) Cross Sr. He was a truck driver and raced late model cars at the South Bend Motor Speedway, drag raced and also enjoyed RC cars. Bob was a Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan, enjoyed bowling and was a United States Navy veteran and member of the American Legion. In his dreams, he was married to Reba McEntire, and was known for his sense of humor.Surviving are 2 daughters Ryan Main and Megan Renae, son Robert J. Cross III, 5 grandchildren Jerry Cross, Richard DeCloedt, Jazzmyn Murphy, Dominic DeCloedt, and Kyleigh DeCloedt, 2 sisters Sandra (Robert) Chabera, Linda (Patrick Sparks) Cross, a brother Richard (MarySue) Cross, a sister-in-law Deb Cross, a favorite nephew Scott Cross, nieces Michelle (Ryon) Sinkowvics, Stacey Lawton, and Tamera (Robert) Emery, and many more beloved relatives. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ronald Cross.A gathering of friends and family will take place from 10:00am to 12:00pm Saturday, August 3, 2019 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Celebration of Life services will follow at 12:00pm. Burial of his cremated remains have taken place in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
