When Robert “Bob” Martin Dixon was in the room, his infectious laughter would be heard before he was seen. His laughter stopped unexpectedly at the age of 65.
Bob grew up in Coloma, Michigan surrounded by the love, laughter and chaos of his eight siblings, his father and absolute saint of a mother, whom he adored.
He began his 20 year career at Hull Lift Truck before graduating from Coloma High School. He enjoyed working at System Clean the past 25 years. His career was fulfilling but he especially cherished the work relationships which turned into lifelong friendships.
Bob’s greatest accomplishment was becoming AJ Dixon’s dad. They had an enviable bond and shared love of football, pizza, Bob Seger and inappropriate one liners.
During his free time he was rarely without a smile, PlayStation controller and a Miller Lite. He was an extremely dedicated Minnesota Vikings fan.
Bob’s happiest times were spent driving around in the woods up north, listening to music and enjoying countless garage nights with his friends and bonus son, BJ Jordan.
He was the best of friends with his siblings Ron, Marcy, Jim, Don, Angie (Chad) McGillivray and Rudy (Jane) Dixon. He was also blessed with two grandsons, a goddaughter, several special nieces, nephews and their families who each held a very dear place in his heart. Bob is now reunited with his parents, Rudy and Marcella Dixon, close friend Uncle Mike (Sue) Dahms and siblings Tina, Brian, Martin (Pat) and Barb (Arnold) Brunson.
Bob was known for being Mr. Nice Guy and always taking care of everyone else before himself. He thought the world of those in his circle who appreciated his huge heart and generosity. You know who you are. May there be peace and comfort knowing you have gained a special angel to watch over you.
