Mishawaka– Robert Andrew Van Tornhout, 66, passed away at 9:00am Monday, May 1, 2023 in the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility.

Robert was born on June 28, 1956 in Mishawaka to Robert and Frances (Barone) Van Tornhout. Bob was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and earned his Masters in Fine Arts Degree from Western Illinois University. He was employed by the American College of Surgeons and was an avid cross-stitcher. He loved theater and had worked at multiple theaters in Indiana and Chicago as a set designer and director.

Surviving are a sister Elizabeth (Paul) Kwiatkowski, a brother Douglas (Catharine) Van Tornhout, two nieces Megan Van Tornhout and Annie (Gary) Kruger, two nephews Adam (Christine) Kwiatkowski and Nicholas (Cherokee) Kwiatkowski, two great nieces Amelia and Hadley and a great-nephew William.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
