Robert "Bobby" Edward Konstantine

Bobby Konstantine passed away on October 7, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. He is survived by Marsha Berta, his daughters Danielle (Philip) Konstantine and Maggie (Brad) Gendel, his grandsons Cullen and Finley Gendel, and Torrhen Konstantine. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Peggy Liedtke, Leonard O’Neil, and Alfred and Carol O’Neil. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Mary Magdalene O'Neil, father Robert Konstantine, aunts and uncles Annie and Clay Benninger, Cecilia and Ralph Grondin, Paul O’Neil, Edward and Marcy O’Neil, Virginia and Ted Oriet, Jerome O’Neil, Karl Liedtke and Audrey O’Neil. 

Bobby was born to Mary Magdalene and Robert Konstantine in Detroit, Michigan. His father passed away when Bobby was two years old and he went to live on the O'Neil family farm in Paquette Corners, Ontario. His time there was filled with many cherished memories and he was surrounded by his aunts, uncles, and countless cousins. 

After a brief stint in the Army, Bobby found himself in the South Bend area and became a legendary figure over the next 50 years. He was an enterprising man who wore many hats but he was perhaps most proud of his daughters and grandsons.

He was a man who liked things over the top and grandiose - the bigger, the better. He was a celebrated storyteller and never met a stranger. Bobby was exceptionally generous and always took the time to help anyone in need. He was a loyal friend, loving father, devoted grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue South Bend, Indiana 46613. The family asks that anyone who attends the visitation be fully vaccinated and wear a mask. A private service will be held for the family.
