Steve Takacs, 88, passed away at 8:15pm Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Elkhart Meadows.
Steve was born on October 31, 1935 in Ajak, Hungary to Gyorgi and Ilonka Takacs. On February 7, 1959 in South Bend he married the former Angela Lakatos. She preceded him in death along with two grandchildren Dallas Burns and Clarence Allbaugh.
Surviving are two daughters Veronica (Curtis) Loging and Angela Burns-Takacs, two sons Steve (Tammy) Takacs and Robert (Linda) Takacs, 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and family in Hungary.
Steve was employed as a chef and enjoyed woodworking and cooking.
Visitation will take place from 11am to 1pm Thursday, March 28th in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Services will be conducted at 1:00pm with burial following in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or the Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
