Sylvia J. Willhite, 87, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026 in her residence, surrounded by her family.

Sylvia was born on September 3, 1938 in Mishawaka to James and Louise (Harden) Smith.  On February 14, 1981, she married Robert L. Willhite.  He died on February 20, 2025.  Sylvia was also preceded in death by a brother Tom Smith. 

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Frank) Nagy and Jennifer (Donald) Stuff, grandchildren, Dawn (Scotty) Keller, April Nagy, Andrew (Keighty) Stuff, Alexander Stuff, and Tucker Stuff, and her brother Rev. W.L. Smith.

She previously had been the pianist / organist at Twin City Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 5-7pm at Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, South Bend, IN. Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 11:00am at Twin City Baptist Church, 420 E. Jefferson Blvd, Mishawaka, IN.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
