William P. Popovich, 92, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 in Brookdale of Granger.
William was born on September 11, 1931 in Berrien Springs, MI to Michael and Emma (Wyman) Popovich. On November 27, 1984 he married Sylvia Yambrich. She died on July 12, 2017.
Surviving are a daughter Mary (Eric) Krause, a son Michael (Dallas) Popovich, 4 grandchildren Lauren (Josh) Kikly, Rachel (Kory) Kolber, Nicole Krause, and Aiden Popovich, 3 great-grandchildren Quinn, Lilah, and Maxine, and a sister Dorothy Pesek.
Bill retired from Teamster’s Local 364, was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Church and was an original member of the Polka Mass Singers.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:00pm in Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Funeral services will follow with private burial of his cremated remains in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
