Zachary Pipke Obituary

Zachary Yaz Pipke was a giant of a man with an even bigger personality.Hes the kind of person of who would walk into a room and instantly fill it with a different energy. He knew no strangers. Wherever he went, friends would soon be made. Likely, this is because of Zachs many interests. He could enjoy a wide variety of music, sports and movies, using these things to make personal connections with folks hed never met.Zach was always willing to lend a helping hand, especially for his closest friends and family.Zachary Yaz Pipke died Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at the age of 30 in Winchester, Indiana. He was born Sept. 13, 1989, in Forrest City, Arkansas, and lived most of his life in South Bend, Indiana. He is survived by his parents, Mary (Horvath) and Timothy Pipke, of South Bend. Hes also survived by his sister Tabitha (Adam) Parkhouse and his niece, Cecily, and nephew, Cooper, all of South Bend.He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dezso Horvath, and his grandmother, Grace Horvath, with whom he had a very special bond.He was a 2008 graduate of South Bend Adams High School and went on to serve proudly in the United States Army. While in the Army, Zachs big personality shined, as he formed a band of brothers that stayed in his life long after his honorable discharge. He loved Notre Dame football and enjoyed making the rounds at home games, having a good time with friends and strangers alike. He loved and enjoyed spending time with his niece and nephew, and they loved their Uncle Zach, marveling at the gentle giant who stood 6-feet, 8-inches tall.A memorial service for Zach will be held noon EST Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Sacred Heart Cemetery in South Bend. Due to COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines, there will be no reception afterward. Arrangements are being handled by Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Ave., South Bend, IN 46613.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to this veterans center: The Journey Home, 325 S.
